ee times article

EE Times article asks an interesting question in its last sentence. The answer is "I do." I just need a team of 7 to 10 young (not bound to wives/children) hackers who can work 25 hours a day 8 days a week for the next year. This will also require a bunch of mountain dew and maybe some adult supervision--perhaps a $300,000 in initial funding to buy equipment and pay for the mountain dew. Sounds like oh so much fun.

yes, that's the trouble that I have with most any venture with potential... :-)

Had lunch with the Xilinx FAE today and we threw some RC ideas around (like we used to 2 yrs ago :-)... he is in agreement with your CIO fellow in that the bulk of the work is in SW... (as am I)... yes an OS with (by definition) some layering at both ends to be HW-independent at the bottom and application-independent at the top. From my understanding of some of your posts, our general applications differ, but I think the middle 'heart' of the OS should be made to work with general/abstract RC objects for 'any' application (I quote 'any' because the initial proof-of-concept version might not need to be too general... IMHO complexity needs to be controlled intially).

This thing keeps bugging me... I'll try to find some time to resurrect things a bit on my end, maybe we can throw some ideas around...
